Dennis Albertson was born on May 19, 1948, in Ridgeway, IA. He was the son of Melvin H. and Anita E. (Johnson) Albertson. He attended Ridgeway Public School and graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco, IA, in 1966. He attended the State College of Iowa from 1966-1977. Dennis enlisted in the US Navy in November 1967, where he served a year in Vietnam. He was released in November 1969 on a hardship discharge following his father's stroke and an honorary discharge in 1973. Dennis attended the University of Northern Iowa, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Science (1974) and a Master's degree in Biology (1975).
Dennis established Greene Auto Parts Inc. and operated 2 Auto Parts Stores in Greene and Allison, IA. He sold the former store in 1996 to spend time restoring special interest automobiles. He also had an extensive collection of Chevrolet Cameo pickup memorabilia, served as the technical advisor for the " Classic Chevy Cameo and GMC Suburban pickup club," and became a nationally known authority on cameos.
Dennis is survived by one brother, Ronald W. Peter of St. Paul, MN, and Port Charlotte, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
