Mr. Dennis “Denny” Craig Leftwich, age 64, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on November 21, 1960 in Surry County to Rita Coe Leftwich and the late Herman Leftwich. Denny was a kind and loving husband, dad, Pa, and friend to many. He was so proud of his grandson Fisher for all he has accomplished so far, and for his future accomplishments as well. He loved so hard. His wife Judy meant everything in the world to him. He would want to be remembered for loving God and helping who he could in any way. He was thankful for all his family and friends, and all they have done for him during his illness. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Judy Leftwich; grandchildren, Fisher Cade Leftwich, Kali Sawyers (Jordan), Mason Gormish; sisters, Pam Busick (Ronald), Mimi Shepherd; special sister-in-law, Amy; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Leftwich was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Craig Leftwich Jr “D.J.”. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Dwight Sechrist. Burial will follow in Hutchens Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30 until the time for the service at the funeral home.
