Dennis Dolan
Dennis Michael Dolan, age 81, lived a full, blessed life with his loving family. He passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025. He was the youngest of seven children, son of Leo and Irene Dolan. Denny was raised in Como Park, St. Paul. He attended St. Andrew's grade school, St. Thomas Academy and graduated from the University of St. Thomas.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Enos, in 1968 and they enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage together, raising their three children in Bloomington.
Denny was a competitive speed-skater in his youth, skating for the St. Paul Midway Club, even setting a national record. He was known for his speed on the baseball and football field. He was a proud member of the STA Crack Drill Squad. Denny served in the Peace Corps in Bogota, Columbia, was a Captain in the Marine Corps, serving a tour in Vietnam as a jet navigator flying an A-6 plane.
Denny was a successful business owner and partner of Minnesota Computer Supply and apartment owner of Olympic Properties, each for over 20 years.
Denny's life was centered around his strong Catholic faith, love for Shirley, devotion to his family, time spent with friends and watching sports. He always looked forward to the next gathering, party and event.
He was an avid sports fan, supporting his hometown teams, as well as his children's & grandchildren's teams. He spent countless hours at ballparks, courts, tracks, fields, and rinks cheering everyone on.
As a true Irishman he could tell a great joke and put a smile on everyone's face! He supported Catholic Education, serving on Parish and School Boards and volunteering throughout the years.
Dennis is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley; infant daughter Kathleen; parents, Leo and Irene, brothers: Fr. Leo Dolan and Pat Dolan (Joan), sisters: Colleen McDonald (John), Mary Ann Wier, Rose Doane (Bob), in-laws: Ted Molitor, Irene Enos, and Bob Enos. He is survived by his children: Steve Dolan (Nicole), Susie Laird (Chris) and Katie Fitzpatrick (Matt); nine grandchildren: Jack (Jenna), Tim, Pete, Sean, Molly, Michael, Rosie, Lucas & Frankie, his sister Renie Molitor, brother-in laws Tom Wier and Wayne Enos, sister-in-law Dru Enos, and many nieces and nephews.
A wake and celebration of life will be held for Denny on Sunday, June 22nd, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Edina Chapel (5000 W. 50th St. & Hwy 100 Edina, Mn)
A funeral Mass and luncheon will take place on Monday, June 23rd, 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Church, with a visitation at 10:00 AM. Memorials preferred to Academy of Holy Angels & Benilde-St. Margaret's.
