Dennis R. Garberg Sr.

Dennis R. Garberg, Sr., age 87, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Jennie E. (Brayman) Garberg to whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was one of three children born to the late Henry J. Garberg, Sr. and Marion L. (Gannon) Garberg.
A Master Plumber by trade, Dennis began working for F.G. Lee & Sons at the age of 16. Although never formally retired, he worked for three generations of the Lund family who became like family to him. He was a devout Boston Bruins fan, an avid newspaper reader and a proud Conservative. Dennis was also very proud of his family heritage and loved to tell anyone he met that his great-grandmother started the Haven Bros Diner. He was quiet and humble and one of the nicest guys one could ever meet. He was very generous with his time and talents whether it be coaching Little League or helping someone out with a plumbing project. He is missed tremendously by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.
Dennis was the devoted father of Dennis R. Garberg, Jr. (wife, Lynn), Steven Garberg and the late Maryanne Moore; step-father of Robert E. Stanley Jr., Lynn M. Stanley and the late Sherry A. Seale; cherished 'Papa' and 'Beepa' of Maggie Jeffers, Joseph Garberg, Steven Garberg Jr., Ashley Benson, Madisyn Garberg, Stephanie Garberg, Cory Kershner, Douglas Stanley, Sherry Ann Seale, Arthur Seale and Bethann Falcone; great-grandfather of many great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Ann Bizier and the late Henry J. Garberg, III.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 9-11am with a Funeral Ceremony at 11am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment with Full Military Honors will immediately follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7312, Warwick, RI 02886 are greatly appreciated.
