Diane B. Gerrish, 74 of Pittsfield, passed away March 12, 2025 at home from Glioblastoma Multiform, diagnosed shortly after her 74th birthday. Born in Montague, MA on October 18, 1950, she was the daughter of Louie and Barbara Bullard Loveland.
She was a graduate of Turners Falls High School, class of 1968. She received her Associate's Degree from Greenfield Community College - while working and raising her 3 children. She was a Mom (Ma), a wife, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a grandmother and a good friend. She worked as an administrative assistant to the Graduate Dean at UMASS Amherst for 35 years.
Diane loved quilting for her family and loved ones. She went on MANY "shop hops" with dear quilting friends. She was very close with her grandchildren and considered them "her heart". She made sure their snack supply was always full. Being "Gamma" was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her children: Robyn Lamoureaux (Rick Crofton) of Pittsfield, with whom she made her home after diagnosis; Mark Gerrish of Greenfield; and David Gerrish of Millis, MA.
She leaves her five grandchildren-Alexandre, Lucien, and Jessica Lamoureaux and Eliza and Layne Gerrish. She also leaves her brother, Donald Loveland of Montague, MA and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her cats Trixie and Luna. Diane was predeceased by her husband Raymond, and brothers David and Dennis Loveland.
Diane and family thank all of the wonderful professionals that provided her service and care over the last 4 months.
Family will have a private gathering at a time of their choosing. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to any Brain Cancer Research in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
