Dolores "Doty" Mae Hawkins Carl, 88, of Bethlehem, WV, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 after a long battle with dementia at Presbyterian Senior Care at Southmont in Washington, PA.
She was born August 23, 1936, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Wilbur and Jean Ruckman Hawkins.
Doty was the manager of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 83 Credit Union and a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was a lifetime volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, Zion Lutheran Church annual Strawberry Festival, and OVMC just to name a few. She loved music, arts & crafts, and loved to make birthday cakes for her family, church, and the annual strawberry festivals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Carl; sister, Minnie Taylor; and brother, Charles "Bud" H. Hawkins.
Doty is survived by three sons, David (Gail) Carl, Michael (Elisha) Carl, and Douglas (Sumner Riddick) Carl; daughter, Stephanie (Craig) Greene; ten grandchildren, Lindsay Carl, Phillip (Laura) Carl, Christian (Brooklyn) Bell, Mackenzie (Keenan) Schmidt, Samantha Carl, Sarah (Trevor) Fancher, Timothy Eure, Olivia Weller, James Potts, and Kayde Potts; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Debra Hawkins; and several nieces & nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Southmont Presbyterian for their amazing care.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
