Dolores "Dolly" (Nowakowski) Kaluzny, age 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on December 29, 2023. She was born in Erie on April 11, 1938 the daughter of the late Stanley P. and Virginia (Wieczorek) Nowakowski.
Dolly graduated from St. Benedict Academy class of 1956. She was a wonderful homemaker and avid gardener, who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores spent many of her years babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the bright rays of light in her life.
Dolores was happiest when surrounded by her family and particularly loved the large holiday parties where she could share the company and love of her entire family.
Dolores loved working on Jigsaw Puzzles, where the more complicated the puzzle, the more she enjoyed the challenge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Virginia Nowakowski and her grandson Jason Kaluzny.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 67 years Walter S. Kaluzny; her two brothers Stanley (Delores) Nowak and Robert (Elizabeth) Nowakowski; her four children, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Kaluzny, Susan (John) Gomolchak, Karen (Delavar) Mizban and Michelle Kaluzny; her grandchildren, Amanda Carlisi, Daniel (Jessica) Gomolchak, Kevin Gomolchak, Justin (Kaley) Mizban, Preston Kaluzny, Jessica (Thomas) Erickson, Nicholas (Laura) Gomolchak, Julia Kaluzny, Eric (Carol) Gomolchak, and Abigail Kaluzny, and she loved being Gigi to her 12 Great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may attend a prayer service there on Wednesday at 10:20 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Stanislaus Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
