Funeral services for Don Blevins, age 77 of Hideaway, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Dr. Gaylan Claunch officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Allen, Texas.
Don passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at his home in Hideaway. He was born August 13, 1947, in Denison, Texas to the late J.M. and Zelma Lois (Hunt) Blevins. Don has lived in Hideaway for the past 8 years where he was a member of the Hideaway Lake Community Church. He was previously a longtime resident of both Arlington and DeSoto, Texas. Don worked throughout his life as a Dental Lab Technician. In his spare time, Don was an avid reader and sports fan and enjoyed finding ways to help his friends and neighbors, as well as find creative ways to support his daughters' various projects. His sister, Wanda Blevins Higgins, and nephew Darrin Pool preceded him in death.
Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Jean Blevins of Hideaway; daughters, Amy Blevins, and Julie Blevins Simmons and husband Jeff; sisters, Shirley Blevins Pool and husband, Ralph and Joan Blevins Power and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Weston and Grayson; brothers-in-law, Ted Grizzle and wife, Murlene, Edwin Grizzle, Thomas Grizzle and wife, Janet, Teddy Grizzle, and Bob Grizzle and wife, Glo; nieces and nephews, Chris Pool, Joshua Power, Lindsey Power, Grady Johnston Jr. and wife, Donna, Riley Higgins and wife, Lori and Sheila Higgins; great aunt, Lavonne; and cousin Daryl Godwin and wife, Sue; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Power, Chris Pool, Riley Higgins, Jeff Simmons, Weston and Grayson Simmons.
