Don passed away on July 5, 2024. He was born on October 20, 1931 in Calhoun. After he graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1950, Don married Ettye "Kay" Weatherby, whom he had met in the sixth grade. Don and Kay had their one and only child, John Clark Murphrey, in 1952.
Don was an avid quail and pheasant hunter. He was a fun father to Clark, and was dedicated to taking care of his family. He and Kay built their first home together where they both lived for the rest of their lives. He loved meeting new people, and hosting new years parties at his home with friends. Don worked as a superintendent for 40 years in paper production. He will be missed greatly. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Ettye "Kay" Weatherby Murphrey; and daughter-in-law, Jo Murphrey.
Don is survived by his son, John Clark; grandson, Ryan Clark; great grandson, Tristan O'Ryan; great granddaughter, Zoey Alexis; trusted dear friend, Misty Murphy and many other cherished family and friends.
