Donald Blain VanFossen, 74, of Perry, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. He was born on February 23, 1951, to the late Glen Lee VanFossen and June Elizabeth VanFossen (Chrisman). After graduating from high school, Donald went on to earn his bachelor's degree before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated over 35 years to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Houston Healthcare, where he later retired. Donald was a man of many passions. He loved spending time in his garden and found great joy in cooking for family and friends. He had a deep affection for his animals, especially his cat, Abby, and his macaw, Margarite. Those who knew Donald will remember him for his generous spirit, kind heart, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Glen and June VanFossen. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sarah Copeland (James) of Cochran, GA, and Rebecca Albritton (Perry) of Perry, GA; his granddaughter, Cecelia Copeland; grandson, Jayden Copeland; great-granddaughter, Zalea Fowler; great-grandson, Zander Fowler; and his sisters, Jane MacDonald of Warrenville, IL, and Judy James (Robert) of Cumming, GA. A service held in Donald's honor will be held at a later date, which will be announced when decided. Donald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
