Donna Doerr Guion, age 74, of Knoxville, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 23,2025.
She was a follower of Christ since the age of 9 and was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church where she worshipped for many years. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Fine Arts. She worked for the University for many years in the Transportation Department and she helped to create a Ride Share program that served those who were in need of a ride to and from the university in order to minimize the amount of cars on the road and gas consumption.
She was an incredibly creative woman who loved to make cards for her family and friends. These cards were made with love and would put Hallmark to shame. She also loved scrapbooking, making many books for family and friends. She studied her Bible intensely throughout her life. She loved studying and learning all she could about Jesus. She loved anything to do with cats and has a substantial collection of cats that she proudly displayed throughout her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Doerr, her brother Terry Doerr, and son, Taylor Guion.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Ed Guion, son Howdy Guion, daughter, Amanda Guion Cooke (Robert), grandchildren, Jordan Cooke, Ashtyn Cooke, Ryan Cooke, Ella Guion, Mason Guion and great granddaughter, Hadley Rae Garcia. Special friends, Cheryl Justice, Pam Heslip, Stephanie Battle, Pat Marcell, and Vivian James, along with many godchildren whom she loved deeply.
As a cousin, Amanda Demarest said, Donna was a rare and special person who brought people together with love and kindness through her generous and peaceful nature. Our world needs more people who go out of their way to improve the lives of others and she will be greatly missed.
A receiving of friends will be held at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:30 pm, with a celebration of her life to follow at 2:30.
