Doris Neel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we say until we meet again to Doris Neel. Doris passed away at home surrounded by family after a 17-year long battle with breast cancer. She was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She wanted everyone to know that the Lord carried her every step of this battle. She knew he was in control.
Doris worked hard her whole life. For many years she worked 3 jobs. Doris worked as a waitress for years at Roy's, Pouncey's, and Swain's. She began driving a school bus in 1987 and continued to drive until this school year except for a few years where she worked at Taylor CI as a Correctional Officer.
Doris Susanette Malcom Neel was born on January 22, 1948, in Perry, FL to David Harris Malcom and Millie Wood Malcom.
Preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Clifford "Bob" Neel Jr, her daughter Rebecca Lee Neel Lundy, parents Dave Malcom and Millie Malcom of Steinhatchee, Brothers: William A Malcom and Franklin Harden both of Steinhatchee, and Grandsons Jason Hanson and Robert Micklos of Perry.
Doris is survived by her sister Ann White of Steinhatchee, her children: son, Richard Neel of Perry, daughters, Susan Neel (Mike Mihalic) of Perry, and Jessica (Donny) Fittje of Texas.
Her grandchildren, Kenneth (Beth) Micklos of Perry, William "Steve" (Amanda) Micklos of Perry, Kristofer (Kynlee) Varnum of Perry, Alexander (Dixie) Neel of Perry, Virginia "Jenna" Lundy of Perry, Margaret "Margo" Lundy of Perry, Mason (Nicole) Browning of Texas, R. Shannon (April) Neel of Perry, Dalton Browning of Perry, Tara (Daniel) Murphy of Perry, Maggie Hanson of Perry. As well as 22 Great Grandkids.
A celebration of life will be held at Northside Church of God with Bro. David Johnson on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A pot luck will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
