Doyle Eugene Edie, age 85, of Exeter, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born July 28, 1939 in Liberty Township, Barry County, Missouri the son of Harvey Everett and Viola (Towe) Edie. On September 1, 1962 in Exeter he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy Dean Stephens, to which they shared 58 wonderful years together. Peggy preceded him in death on December 11, 2020. Also, preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Webb Edie and Larry Edie; three sisters, Louise Hargus, Rosa Lee Richmond and Patsy Gentry.
Surviving him in death are one son, Robert Edie and his wife Angie of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Melissa Garrison and her husband Shawn of Exeter, Missouri; five grandchildren, Veronica, Nathaniel, Gail, Sara, Payton and 15 great grandchildren.
Doyle grew up in Exeter and was a proud graduate of Exeter High School, class of 1958. He dedicated many years to ensuring quality as an inspector at Jumping Jack's Shoe Company and Justin Boot Company in Cassville, Missouri. Doyle enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. When he wasn't casting a line, he could be found perusing flea markets, always on the lookout for hidden treasures and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Doyle was a member of First Baptist Church in Exeter.
Doyle's life was characterized by unwavering devotion to his family, a deep sense of loyalty, and a kind-hearted nature that endeared him to all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 28, 2025 at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Yarnall will conduct the services.
Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in memory of Doyle.
