Dr.trudy Aletha Pratt

Reverend Dr. Trudy Aletha Bright Pratt was born in Sanford, NC to Bishop Earl H. Bright, Sr.
and Inez C. Bright, both deceased. She was the wife of 40 years to the late Bishop Donald Louis
Pratt, Sr.
Dr. Pratt was an ordained minister in the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. She worked tirelessly
beside her husband as he founded Armour of Faith Church of God in Hixson, TN, pastored four
additional churches, and served four years as the State Youth and Christian Education Director
for the Church of God Florida – Cocoa State Office. Dr. Pratt also worked as a Regional
Director and Mental Health Therapist for Camelot Care Centers, Cleveland TN, and Case
Manager Supervisor for Hamilton County Community Services Agency, State of TN,
Chattanooga, TN. She volunteered as a Chaplain at CHI Memorial Hospital Northpark and a Life
Skills Coach at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Nonprofit.
Dr. Pratt graduated from Lee University with a B.S. in Sociology. She received a M.A. degree
from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Religious Education in Christian
Counseling and Religious Education from Covington Theological Seminary. After receiving her
doctorate, Dr. Pratt taught for four semesters with Dr. Curtis Gray at the Pan Africa Christian
College University in Ghana, West Africa which allowed the University to become accredited by
the Ghanaian government.
Dr. Trudy Pratt is survived by two exemplary sons, Donald (DJ) L. Pratt, Jr. and Jason Pratt
(Tara), granddaughters Grace, Ava, Zoe, and Aubrey, brothers Earl H. Bright, Jr. (Antoinette),
Leon L. Bright (Lois), and Wayne L. Bright, Sr., sisters Lerlean A. Matthews, Elder Diane Bright
Doriney, and Arlene L. Bright, and an abundance of nieces and nephews whom she loved and
who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Sydney Pratt.
