Dwight Owens

Mr. Curtis Dwight Owens, better known as Dwight, age 80, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, January 9, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Lung officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Creek Christian Church Cemetery with masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2025; two hours prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Owens was born in Ashe County on June 12, 1944 to the late Paul and Marie Watson Owens. He worked majority of his career at Sprague Electric and later worked for the park service. He was a member of the Ashe Masonic Lodge, where he served as treasurer for many years. He was an active member of Beaver Creek Christian Church; where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. Dwight had a large and gorgeous heart. He helped many people in Ashe County. He was a loving husband and father; he will be deeply missed by all.
Mr. Owens is survived by: his wife, Betty Hardin Owens; a daughter and husband, Amanda Thompson (Randy), of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
