Our Beloved Eddie passed away March 31, 2025. Born October 19, 1938 at home, in Ogden, Utah to Louis B. Bovero and Pauline A. (Richins) Bovero. He attended Ogden High School and served in the U.S. Army. Returning home, he worked for Smith's bakery decorating wedding cakes. For over 40 years Ed owned and operated Ed's Body Shop and Bovero Auto Sales.
Our families, the Bovero's have been truly blessed with many talents from the artistic to the technical. Eddie was no exception. He could spread icing on a cake until it looked like a sheet of glass with delicate rose petals around the edge that you would swear were real. He played the piano with ease and he could often be seen dancing the night away at many of the clubs around town in sync with the music as though he were a part of it.
Ed really loved cars! He quickly applied his cake icing ability to spreading Bondo so smooth that the dings and dents in fenders and doors, like magic, seemed to disappear, and Ed's Body Shop was born. A plethora of local auto retailers, wholesalers and car buyers alike benefited from his automotive expertise and impressive auto body repair and painting skills. He worked tirelessly for many years and ultimately obtained his dealers license and built his own shop in Roy Utah called Bovero Auto Sales.
Relaxation came in the form of hip wader boots and a carbon fiber pole. He was an avid fisherman traveling to the rivers of Montana and Wyoming with his brother-in-law John and his brothers and friends. He enjoyed walking his dogs Laddie and Champ daily along the river trail near his home.
Ed, Eddie, Edward, he would answer to any of those names with a friendly smile that went from ear to ear. With his quick witted sense of humor and kind heart, he was always willing to help you out. His friends will tell you, "Ed Bovero, he's a good man, a good, honest, man".
He is survived by his son Kim Wanner; granddaughter Christina (Ryan) Vanbeekum; grandson Joseph Wanner; great grandson Riley Wanner; siblings Connie (John) Slater; Brent (LaRene) Bovero; sister-in-law Melinda; many nephews and nieces and his loyal dog "Champ".
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons Jeffery and David; sister PattyLou; brothers Carl, Howard, Richie, Steve and Gerald.
Thank You for Your Example,
We Love You and We Will Miss you
