Edwin M. Walter, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 76. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Edwin was a retired truck driver for 37 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force Edwin was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Southern University at New Orleans. Loving husband of 46 years to Margaret Walter. Devoted father of Edwin, Jr., Ernestine (Damon, Sr.) Tawanna (Byron), Terrance, and Travis (#E5). Son of the late Erwin, Sr. and Louise Riley, and James “Jimmy” Walter. Brother of the late Erwin, Jr., Charles, Sr., and James, Jr. Father in law of the late Charelle. Edwin was preceeded in death by 2 sisters, also survived by 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. . Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fischer Community Church and all neighboring churches; members of Mason’s Richmon #1 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Fischer Community 1737 L. B. Landry Ave New Orleans, LA on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor James Nelson Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Friday May 5, 2023, at 10:00a.m.
