Jennings - Ethel O. Hine, 82, passed peacefully on November 24, 2023, with her family by her side. Ethel was born on June 30, 1941, to Alfred Ordoneaux & Edna Miller Ordoneaux. Ethel was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family, she also worked outside the home for Trahan's Drug Store, then for Jeff Davis Electric Company, as one of their clerical staff. She had a heart of gold, was a true friend to everyone, she had the ability to befriend any soul, and her smile would light up the room as soon as she walked in. Ethel loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a gentle soul who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Damon Hine of Carbon, TX, Bucky Hine of Jennings, LA, Todd Hine (Dionne) of Lake Charles, LA, Matt Hine of Alexandria, LA; her daughter, Robin H. Jarrell (Randy) of Lake Charles; her five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Barbara Ordoneaux of Jennings, LA.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Edna M. Ordoneaux; her two brothers, Allen Ordoneaux of Jennings, LA, & Norman (Dot) Ordoneaux of Lake Arthur, LA; her two sisters, Edith O. Bowers, & Zita Ordoneaux both of Jennings, LA.
The Family of Ethel is requesting that all of her family and friends join them for a Celebration of Ethel's life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Matthews & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Located at 511 North Cutting Ave. Jennings, LA 70546. Ethel will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following her Services.
Ethel's family would like everyone to also join them in for her wake on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of her Service at 12:00 PM at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA.
The family would like to give special thanks to her Hospice, their nurses, and staff. Also, a very special thanks to her God sent caregivers who went over and beyond.
