Eugene R. Kreitzer Sr.

Eugene R. Kreitzer, Sr., 75, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024. He was the husband of the late Dorothy J. (Minnich) Kreitzer.
Born in Hershey on August 26, 1949, he was the son of the late Martin and Helen (Hainley) Kreitzer. Gene was a graduate of Cedar Crest High School Class of 1967. He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Hamlin. Since the late 70's, he was the owner and operator of Gene Kreitzer General Construction. He was active with the Lebanon County Builders Assoc. (LCBA). He joined on December 1, 1980, just two weeks shy of 44 years, and he was currently a life member. He served as the LCBA President in 1990, 1999, and 2007, and currently he was the Chairman of the Membership and Governmental Affairs Committee. He served as the PA Builders Assoc. (PBA) President in 2009 and was a current life member. He won the Small Contractor of the Year Award in 1991, the Regional Vice President of the Year Award in 1999, and he was the PBA Builder of the year in 2001. He was still active with PBA past Presidents Committee and was currently serving as a local PHRC Rep. He was a life member of the National Association of Home Builders. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Eugene R. Kreitzer, Jr. and his wife Erin of Fredericksburg; daughters Jennifer wife of Robert Yordy of Fredericksburg and Kendra wife of Ian Beers of Andreas, PA; sister Susan Guare of Robesonia; and his grandchildren Madison Yordy, Regan and Austyn Kreitzer, Emma Yordy and James Richard Beers. He was preceded in death by his brother James Kreitzer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 24, 2024, between 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow at the Hamlin Cemetery.
