Fayetta Scott, affectionately known as "Faye" was born February 13, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Father Andrew Lane and Mary Debardelaben in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local schools in Duval County Public School System, attending Stanton High School in her high school years.

She was a beacon of strength, grace, and resilience. Born with a heart full of love and a spirit that uplifted everyone around her, she lived a life marked by dedication-to her sons, family, and her faith.

Faye brought excellence, warmth, and integrity. She was known for her unwavering support, her infectious smile, and her ability to make others laugh, but at the same time she would let you know how she truly felt about you.

Faye was employed as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service, where she retired.

On her Christian journey, Faye joined Faith Chapel. Where her late husband Eded B. Scott was a Pastor. She was a jokester with a great sense of humor. Her sons were her foundation. She cherished every moment spent with loved ones, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her wisdom, laughter, and kindness were gifts she gave freely.

Faye is preceded in death by her husband Ebed B Scott, father Andrew Lane, mother, Mary Debardelaben, and son, Ferman Leon Bright.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, sons, Andre Bright (Marta) Tracy Bright, and Ronnie Bright; brothers, Rodney Barringer, Gerald Debardelaben, and Desi Dunlap (Wendy); sister, Anna Rivers; cousin, Ernestine Rivers; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, nephews and friends.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy endures-in the lives she shaped, the love she gave, and the light she brought into the world.

"Our dear mother, now at peace, her loving memory will never cease. A guiding star, forever near, Her love will conquer every tear."

Mrs. Scott may be viewed Friday, August 22, 2025, at Carthage Chapel Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. Until 7:00 p.m., 929 West Beaver Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Queen Esther Church of God In Unity, 1747 McQuade Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209.
