Blacksburg - Frances Elizabeth White Wylie returned to the side of her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2025. She was born August 3, 1940 in Casar, NC. Her faith was as strong and steady as the mountains she came from. That faith and those mountains were a living, breathing part of her. Their roots ran deep as oak and settled on those around her like the blue haze of the South Mountains. She could pick Ben's Knob out of the ridge line as fast as she could quote you the perfect line of scripture. As an educator she helped shape many lives but her greatest accomplishment was teaching her family to find the joy in every situation.
Left to find the joy are a son and a daughter, Scott Wylie (Shellie) and Pam Anderson (Robert); grandchildren, Jessie Rogers (Jermaine), Ethan Anderson (Stephanie), Grace Wylie, Joy Halloway (Garrett), and Josh Holly (Stacey); and a brother, Joe White (Vangette). She also leaves behind two very special great-grandchildren that had her whole heart, Aiden and Anderson Rogers.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Casar Methodist Church Cemetery in Casar, NC with Rev. Brian Harris officiating. Ronnie White, David White, Ethan Anderson, Michael Sipes, Deven Degree, and Austin Whiteside will serve as pallbearers.
