Francis D. "Joe" Nolan, 85, of Chicago passed away on July 1, 2024. Loving brother of Judith A. (Dennis Casty) Nolan, the late John D. (the late Joyce) Nolan, Sister Mary Catherine Nolan, O.P., James A. (Jeanne) Nolan. Proud uncle of Catherine (Fred Richer) Nolan, Jennifer (Victor Tirva) Nolan, James Nolan and Jennifer (Sean Gaffey) Casty. Adored great-uncle to Calvin and Erica Tirva and Vera Mae Nolan. Joe was a born educator. He taught his high school students with zeal and passion. He had a zest for travel. He was a patron and benefactor to the arts, and a special benefactor to NGOs in Mexico where he spent much of his time and was well known and loved. A memorial visitation will be held on July 12th from 4-7pm with eulogies starting at 6:15 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago IL 60646. Memorial donations in Joe's name can be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America or the Chicago Symphony Orchestra are appreciated. More info 773-736-3833.
