Frank Joseph Maggio, Sr., 87 years old, lost his 24 year battle with prostate cancer on November 14, 2024. He was born in New Brunswick, N.J., to V. Joseph and Grace (Johnson) Maggio.
After graduating high school, Frank served in the Navy aboard the USS Valley Forge, an aircraft carrier. Thereafter he worked with his father in their plumbing business. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Emily, in 1959, and they recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.
In 1969 they moved to Florida, having purchased a lot in Little Hickory Shores subdivision where Frank and his father built their first home. They still live on the same street, 56 years later, but in the house Frank built in 1980. Frank went to work at Conditioned Air Corporation in 1971, owned at the time by Jack Stark, a friend and neighbor. Forty-nine years later at the age of 80 he retired.
Frank was not a church-going person but a more Christian man you would be at a loss to find. Honest, hardworking, dependable and oh so knowledgeable about so many things. He was always ready and willing to help a friend, neighbor or anyone in need of a helping hand with chores, repairs or whatever.
Survivors include his widow, Emily; sons, Vincent (Jill) and Frank J. Jr (Maila); grandchildren, Joey (Jennifer) Maggio, Pamela Maggio, Lindsay (David) Rothe, Christopher (Marissa) Hale, Thomas Gidley, Gabriela Gidley; and 6 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Ann Maggio.
There will be no formal service, that wasn't Frank's way. So hug your loved ones, try not to hate others or make enemies and you'll make the world a better place..........just like Frank did. And if you wish to make a donation to Avow Hospice or a cancer research/patient aid charity of your choice to help others in their battle, Frank and his family would be grateful.

Sending my deepest sympathy to Emily and family. I have known Frank since I was 12 years old hanging out at Taylor´s garage. Frank was always so kind showing me how to fix anything and everything. I was in awe of his ability to fix, make, and fabricate so many things. Frank was amazingly talented. He was always kindhearted to everyone he met. He will be missed by many.
With sympathy.
