Gary Kimball Obituary

Gary Kimball, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away in Houston, Texas, after a life filled with kindness, humor, and devotion to those he loved.

Gary was born in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and grew up on Long Island, New York. He graduated from Hicksville High School before going on to earn his bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his master's degree from Springfield College. In 1981, he moved to Houston, where he built a meaningful life over the next 44 years.

On February 18, 1984, Gary married the love of his life, Kathy, in Houston. Together they shared a 41-year marriage filled with laughter, travel, family, and unconditional support.

Gary was known for his warm personality-kind, funny, and endlessly caring. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and his active spirit kept him engaged in many hobbies and passions. He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, enjoyed fantasy sports, and loved history and traveling. Gary had a special bond with his pets, his dog Abby and cat Princess, and could often be found at concerts, the theater, or trying his luck at a game of chance. Volunteering came naturally to him, and he poured his energy into helping others with enthusiasm and generosity.

Above all, Gary was a great dad and devoted family man. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy Kimball; his father, Harry Kimball; his daughter, Danielle Curtin, and her husband, Bradley; his brother, Marc Kimball; his nieces Sydney Klein and her husband Nathan, Sammy Kimball, and Elizabeth Welch and her husband Michael; his nephews Corey Doyle and Michael Doyle; and his parents-in-law, Margaret and Frank Doyle. He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Tim and Sandra Doyle, and Fred and Kathy Doyle.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Kimball.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Pals (specialpals.org, 281-579-7387), an organization close to Gary's heart.

Gary's legacy of love, humor, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him
