October 21, 1958 - April 15, 2025
Gary Tutor entered this world on October 21, 1958 in Austin, Texas - and very proud of it! He was born with Texas pride in his veins, a goofy loving heart, destined to leave a trail of laughter, wisdom, and a few stray golf balls across the Lone Star State.
He grew up in Temple after a tour-de-childhood courtesy of a military family. There, Gary truly rooted himself graduating as a Temple Wildcat and later serving on the Temple City Council. From wildcat to wise cat, Gary never stopped loving his hometown (or reminding you) that he served on the council).
Gary went on to attend the University of Texas in Austin where he likely majored in charm, minor in tailgating. He later settled in Georgetown, where he raised a shockingly beautiful family (his words, but also facts). He was the proud dad of Chase, Brett, and McKinsey. Three kids who inherited his quick wit, and big heart.
Gary is survived by his children Chase, Brett, and McKinsey; his parents, Chet and Ellen Tutor; his beloved girlfriend, Kari, who filled his later years with joy and companionship; and his grandkids Kya, Beau, Devin, Dylan, and Eli, all of whom he adored more than a birdie on the 18th hole.
To know Gary was to laugh, to learn, and to feel loved. He was extremely generous with a fun-loving spirit. His spirit lives on in every sarcastic joke, every Longhorn cheer, and every sunset round of golf. Heaven just got a little louder, a little funnier, and a lot more Texan.
We'll miss you, Dad. Keep the fairways mowed up there.
