George J. Gauvin

George Gauvin, age 96, of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of East Hartford, CT died peacefully on June 24, 2024.
Born on August 20, 1927 in Moncton New Brunswick, Canada, to the late Ernest and Catherine (Nowlan) Gauvin.
He was a retired baker, working many years for the First National Supermarkets Co. giving over 45 years of service. He was long time member of The Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, Fl.
George was a wonderful husband and father. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family playing friendly card games of Skat and poker.
During his younger years, he was an avid hockey player. He enjoyed also; hunting, gardening, fishing, bowling and playing pool. You could find him most days watching his favorite sports on TV; Baseball, Football and Hockey.
He was such a friendly and helpful neighbor and Father.
He is survived by his Children; Frank (Kathy) of Florida, Yvette (Ron) Savage of Florida, Charlie (Cheryl) of CT and Georgette (Brooks) MacQuarrie of CT; and 12 Grandchildren; Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Jason, Joseph, Eric, Michelle, Sydney, Jaclyn, Kate, Mason, and Ryan and 12 Great Grandchildren; Tyler, Vincent, Kaleigh, Jacob, Lucas, Liam, Noah, Hannah, Lennon, Reagan, Brayden and Carson.
Also, He is survived by Brothers; Leopold (Paul) of Moncton and Jean Marie of Ottawa Ont.
He leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, and many more family members and friends.
He was predeceased by the Love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Maria (Belliveau), brother Ronald Gauvin, sisters; Gloria Steeves, Doris Johnson, Claudette Fittsimmons.
George will be "Resting Together" with his wife (Maria) in Wallingford, CT. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
