Gerald Dale "Jerry" Cook, son of Robert A. and Fern I. Woods Cook, was born April 19, 1959, in Lebanon, Missouri and departed this life July 5, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years.
Jerry attended Conway High School and graduated with the class of 1978. He made many friends and treasured each of them.
On October 27, 1984, Jerry was united in marriage with Louise Mae Thompson. Together Jerry and Louise shared twenty-eight years of laughter and memories, while raising their two children, Dale and Iona.
Jerry was saved and baptized in the family pond, as a young boy. Over the years, he attended several area churches. He loved his church families and their prayers.
Jerry worked hard to provide for his family. He was a supervisor on the bass boat line for many years. He appreciated his co-workers and employers, as they did him.
In his free time, Jerry enjoyed painting pictures and camping. He and Louise also enjoyed square dancing, it is where they met and over the years continued their dancing, traveling with the "Levis and Laces" group. Jerry was also a massive collector of music boxes. However, time spent and memories shared with his family is what he treasured most. He loved them dearly.
Jerry is survived by one daughter, Iona Reed and her partner, Cody Sterling of Taylorsville, Utah; one son, Dale Cook of Phillipsburg, MO; grandchildren, Levi and Ezra and twin baby boys on the way; three brothers, James "Jim" Cook and his wife Helen, Jack Cook and his wife Karen and Terry Cook and his wife Donna, all of Lebanon, MO; two sisters, Peggy Bohannon and her husband Elvin of Conway, MO and Barbara Hicks of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law, Richard Thompson of Canada; and Louise's cousin and best friend, raised as her sister, Sharon Cortes and her husband Tom of Greenville, TX; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Fern I. Woods Cook; his wife, Louise; one brother, Robert P. "Bobby" Cook; and his in-laws, Louis Karl and K. Lucille Thompson.
Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be forever missed.
There will be a memorial service for Jerry at a later date. At his request, his body is to be cremated.
Memorials have been suggested to Jerry's family to help with expenses. Please make checks payable to:
Shadel's Colonial Chapel (P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn Lebanon, MO 65536)
