Gerald L. Franck

Gerald Lee Franck, 94, of North Aurora passed away on October 28, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gerald was a proud graduate of St. Edward Catholic High School in Elgin, IL.
After high school, he worked with his grandfather learning the trade of cement finishing, going on to become a union cement finisher for his career, providing a good life for his family.
Outside of work, Gerald was a man of strong faith. He was privileged to volunteer his time serving as an usher for many years. He served as the vice president of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, raising money for the altar in the new church. He also enjoyed calling bingo, which is how he met his wife, Delores. Gerald was a devoted supporter of Catholic education, sending his three daughters to Annunciation BVM Elementary School and Aurora Central Catholic High School. As a parent volunteer, he helped build a concession stand for ACC at the Farnsworth campus. Gerald was a lifetime member of the Luxembourger Club and the Phoenix Club, where he spent many afternoons after his retirement enjoying card games with friends.
Gerald is survived by his daughters: Geralyn Navarro, Marilyn Franck, and Carolyn Franck, as well as his grandchildren Daniel (Amanda) Navarro and Stephanie (Eric) Heusinger, and great grandchildren, Penelope and Everett Navarro. He also is survived by his brother, Denis Franck, and many cousins. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Delores Franck, parents, John and Dorothy (Gramley) Franck, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gerald's family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Jennings Terrace in Aurora for making his last 10 months memorable for him, as well as the staff at AccentCare Hospice for their compassionate care of him in his final days.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, from 10 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak St., North Aurora, followed by burial at Marywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Gerald's memory to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Aurora Central Catholic High School.
