A resident of Youngsville, Harry Lee Lopez, Sr. was born on April 1, 1948, to the late Paul and Mildred Bourque Lopez. He was a man who devoted his life to both his craft and the joys of nature around him.
Harry distinguished himself as a skilled contract welder, renowned for running numerous fabrication yards throughout his career. His work ethic was exemplary and inspired many who had the privilege of working alongside him. He approached each project with a meticulous attention to detail, leaving a legacy of excellence in the field of fabrication.
Mr. Lopez was a man deeply connected to the earth. He found solace in hunting and fishing, which brought him peace and a sense of adventure. He also cherished the simple pleasures of gardening, spending countless hours tending to his beloved orange and pecan trees. His backyard was a testament to his love for nature, a sanctuary where he could unwind and reflect on life.
Harry also enjoyed going to the casino and going out to eat with family and friends. However, it was his grandchildren who held a special place in Harry's heart. He adored them, showering them with love, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Greer Lopez; children, Harry Lopez, Jr. (Myra), Crystal Lopez Gaudin (Warren), Stacey Martinez (David), and Scott Zimmer (Christine); brothers, Scotty Lopez (Tyra) and Ricky Lopez (Tonette); and grandchildren, Katelyn, Kristen, Cole, Colette, Emilee, Parrish, Caroline, Julian, and Austin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane Lopez.
Harry will be remembered for the warmth and joy he brought to those who knew him. His spirit will live on through the love he shared and the memories he created with family and friends. May he rest in peace.
