Helen Dockery, 101, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born and raised in Irvington, NJ, she was a graduate of Irvington High School. Helen lived in Hillside, NJ then raised her family in Rahway, NJ. She later lived in Sterling, NJ before moving to Holiday City Carefree in 1978.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter Dockery in 1978 and her two sons Wayne and Timothy Dockery.
Helen is survived by her daughter and son in law Barbara and Rich Wright of Port St. Lucie, FL, a brother Robert Niejako of New Jersey and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered Wednesday, October 16, 2024 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown, NJ.

I came across a beautiful letter Ms.Helen wrote, to my Dad´s widow, a few weeks after his death. She said she recognized the name in his obit. Sure enough, they must have known each other!
She wrote sweet memories she had as a young kid sister, seeing the boys hang out at the gas station, owned by her brother, in Irvington.
Just wanted to let the family know...
