Helen Mae (Baker) Tomaso, age 93, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on January 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry Chester and Rose May (Walsh) Baker. She spent her early years in Walpole before moving with her family to Norwood, where she graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1947.
Helen married her beloved husband, Anthony J. Tomaso on July 8, 1950. Together, they made their home in Walpole, where Helen took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her three children. As her children grew up, Helen took a position with Bay State Federal Savings Bank in Norwood, where she worked as a teller. Helen went on to work at the John Hancock office in Walpole before taking a job with Ashmont Discount of Walpole on Main Street. After the Walpole location closed, Helen transferred to the Norton location, and was later invited back to join the team of Rocky's Ace Hardware in Walpole. Her career with Rocky's continued until her retirement in 2017.
Throughout her life, Helen was known for her cooking skills, learning the traditional Italian recipes from her mother-in-law. She and her husband were avid bowlers, joining the many local leagues at Petracca's Lanes in Walpole center. Back at home, Helen enjoyed some quiet time, working on her various knitting projects or reading one of her favorite books.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Tomaso.
Loving mother of James Tomaso of Swansea, Mark Tomaso of Walpole, and Cynthia Shannon of Nevada.
Cherished grandmother of Michael Joseph Shannon and Brian William Shannon; and great grandmother of Saber, Axel, Kaiden, Kailyn, Cash, Guinevere, Emmy, and David.
Sister of the late Henry Baker and Janice Melish.
At the request of Helen's family, all funeral services will be private, with interment taking place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.

I know it's late for me to share a condolence but I just saw her passing. Mama Tomaso was like my second Mom. Always loved her cooking. Her Goulash was my favorite. She will be missed. I'm sorry Cindi, Mark and Jim.
