Herbert Bruce Roth

Herbert Bruce Roth, 72, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 12, 2023 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Diana L. (Yocum) Roth.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Herbert E. and Betty J. (Wolfe) Roth. Bruce was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He received an associate's degree from East Stroudsburg University; and was a graduate of the Police Academy. Bruce was a police officer for Muhlenberg Township until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked as a security officer at Albright College; and also worked at Willow Hollow Golf Course. Bruce was the coach for the Schuylkill Valley Golf Team for 25 years and was active with other sports at the school. The Man, the Myth, the Legend, enjoyed golfing, grilling and smoking meat (self-proclaimed Pit Master and King of the Herbie Burger).
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Dustin B. Roth, husband of Lisa Ramos-Roth, Georgetown, Delaware; and Jillian M. Roth, Leesport; and seven grandchildren: Olivia Roth, Madison Ziska, Valerie Noll, Emma Noll, Corin Roth, Dawson Roth and Cole Roth. Bruce is also survived by two brothers: Nelson Roth, husband of Pat, York; and Lew Roth, husband of Linda, Leesport. He was predeceased by a sister: Marcia Plucker.
In lieu of flowers, donations for his legacy would be appreciated for the 'Bruce Roth Scholarship' fund, to be awarded every year to a graduating SV Senior Golfer in his honor.
