Howard Welch Jr., born on September 29, 1968, passed away on November 14, 2024. A graduate of West Jefferson High School, Howard was well-known as a wide receiver on the football team and displayed a passion for both football and basketball throughout his high school and young adult life.
Howard was a person who exemplified the qualities of being welcoming, kind, and charming; he genuinely knew no strangers. His love for golf was a significant part of his life, and he readily shared this passion with those around him. Professionally, he dedicated himself to a career as a casino dealer, where he built connections with many individuals over the years; friends that became family to him. He was also one of the biggest Saints and LSU fans that you would ever cross paths with. He would travel and attend as many games as he could while making memories with his friends doing so.
Howard is survived by his two children, Brenna Welch, and Aiden Rose. His daughter Brenna is married to Taylor Langlinais, and together they blessed Howard with two grandchildren, Taylor Langlinais Jr. and Braelyn Langlinais. He also leaves behind his father, Howard Welch Sr., and brothers Dwayne Welch and Roland Welch, along with sister-in-law Tevan Welch.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Theresa Welch.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Howard's life during the visitation on November 23, 2024, from 10:45 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA 70058.
