Jack Owen Berrigan, 89, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 21, 1936 in New Orleans, LA. He attended Jesuit High School and left to join the military. He bravely served in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division with the Special Forces during the Korean War and later went on to serve in the Army Reserve, Army National Guard and Navy Reserve. He obtained his G.E.D. while serving in the Army and went on to obtain two bachelor's degrees at UCLA and Cambridge. He was an entrepreneur and true renaissance man, finding success across multiple industries, and was a practitioner of the musical and visual arts. Jack is survived by his wife of 38 years, Isabel Acosta, sons Donald (Barbara), Kevin (Barbara), Patrick and Geoffrey and five grandchildren. Two of his sons preceded him in death, Stephen and Shawn. He has one surviving sibling, Jean and two siblings preceded him in death, Donald and Linda Scheller. Thank you to all of the staff at East Jefferson General Hospital who cared for Jack in his final days and for all who visited or called to express their love, prayers and support for him in his final days and the days that followed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, LA 70006. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Tharp Funeral Home. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.tharpcares.com.
