Jackie McDonald entered the gates of heaven December 5, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.
Jackie was born the son of Lon and Vada McDonald born July 18th, 1960 in Winters, Texas. His sister Cindy and him were their children who lived as ag teacher kids traveling across the state showing cattle and sheep. He attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with a bachelor degree in Agriculture Education and masters of Education. He started his ag-science teaching career at Lubbock Cooper for the first year and then moved to Welch, Texas and taught at Dawson ISD for 14 years where he welcomed his daughter and son- Chelsea and Roper. He also found the love of his life, DiAnna McDonald, while stock showing, it was "love at first sight." That is when the "brady bunch" was created, Heather, Chelsea, Haile, and Roper lived many summers of stock showing across the state of Texas. Jackie loved stockshows and making sure all the animals were shown perfect and looked perfect and he was great at it. They moved to Seminole in 1996 and continued his ag teacher role until he retired in 2011 after educating youth in agriculture for 30 years. After retirement Jackie and Dianna moved to Lake Brownwood. Retirement brought many miles of chasing their 8 grandchildren. Whether it be stockshows, football, softball, baseball, choir concerts, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, dance recitals, and numerous FFA events. Jackie was also an avid hunter and spent 43 years hunting with his dearest friends in Christoval. He also loved to fish and enjoyed every minute on the lake fishing for crappie. His yard was always beautiful and the most inviting for many people to come and visit, he loved to visit and tell you about his grandchildren's awards. Jackie was also strong in his faith. His relationship with Jesus was a very important part of his life, and he loved sharing his faith with everyone he encountered. There truly aren't words to describe the influence and love he gave throughout his life. He was a man of God, husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and best friend. The world will not be the same without him.
He is survived by his wife, DiAnna, her siblings: Debbie and her husband Joe Tom Childs and mother-in-law Juanelle Boyd. His children: Chelsea and husband Cade Wilson of Early, Roper McDonald of Lubbock, Heather Epley and husband Josh of Aledo, and Haile and her husband John Wright of Sugarland. His grandchildren Boston Epley(19), Tynlea Wilson(16), Londyn Epley(15), Sullivan Wright (13),Cyndea Wilson(12), Stanley Wright(11), Aynslea Wilson (10), and Whitlea Wilson (7) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lon and Vada McDonald and sister Cindy Scheihing.
