James W. Bowling, 86, of Marianna, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 9, 1938, in Chambers County, Alabama. He was the third child of the late Thomas and Mattie Bowling. 

James was a graduate of Cottondale High School. After graduation he served in the United States Army for two years. After serving in the Army he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He worked in the printing industry until his retirement. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas S. and Mattie A Bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Bowling; son, James Bowling, Jr.; granddaughter, Brooke Bowling; one great-grandchild; sisters, Alene Crosby, Maryann Hill, Zelna Metcalf, and Janice Brown; brothers, George Bowling, Frank Bowling, and Russell Bowling.

A visitation and viewing will be from 1:30 until 2:30 PM, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
