Jim graduated from Kenmore East High School in 1963 and was awarded a Regents College Scholarship to attend the University of Rochester. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo with a degree in Psychology and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Master's of Industrial and Labor Relations from the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.

Jim was appointed faculty at Jamestown Community College where he taught in social sciences.

After returning to the Buffalo area, Jim taught at Erie Community College. He worked for many years at the Better Business Bureau Foundation helping to develop their Community Dispute Resolution program.

Jim was a longtime resident of Buffalo, NY and an avid Bills fan. In his later years he lived with family in New Orleans, LA and Canonsburg, PA. He never stopped learning and was always fascinated by both the deep sea and wonders of space.

Always the teacher and lover of education, Jim made a gift of his body to the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, August 10 at The Bible Chapel Washington, 34 W. Wheeling Street, Washington, PA.
