James O'Risky

James "Jim" O'Risky, a cherished family man, respected veteran, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in his hometown of Evansville, where he was also born on November 16, 1935. Jim's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his community.
Jim was the beloved husband of the late Gayle O'Risky, with whom he shared 62 years of loving marriage. He was a devoted father to his two children, Jeff O'Risky (Dana) and Jamie Ames (companion Benny Scott). His legacy of love and strength lives on through his grandson, Beau Ames. Jim was the last surviving sibling of his four brothers and sisters, and he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jaycee Ames, and his parents, Richard and Bonita O'Risky.
After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, Jim continued his career as an aircraft mechanic at Mead Johnson, demonstrating his technical acumen and dedication. When the company changed hands, he did not waver in his commitment to hard work and took on a new role with the Evansville Fire Department. For twenty years, he served the community with courage and integrity. Even while protecting the citizens of Evansville, Jim found the time to work part-time as a driver for Evansville Concrete Company, showcasing his tireless work ethic.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for hunting and fishing was more than a hobby.
