James Plemmons Obituary

He was born on October 18, 1953 in Peoria, IL to James H. and Catherine (Dycus) Plemmons. He married Debbie R. Sweet on April 19, 1975 in East Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie of East Peoria; children, Sondra Plemmons of East Peoria and Nicolas Plemmons of Washington, IL; and siblings, Ivan (Debbie) Plemmons of Elkville, IL and Sylvia (David) Horton of DeWitt, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James worked in maintenance at PHD Services. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Peoria, IL. While living in Arkansas, Jim was the assistant fire chief for Tichnor Volunteer Fire Department and a volunteer fireman for the De Witt Fire Department for 20 years. He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV, hunting, fishing, basketball, and woodworking. He loved singing in the Unity Baptist Church Choir. Above all, he loved his family and his church family.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Rowell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to either Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 3004 West Lake Avenue, Peoria, IL 61615 or to your local fire department in memory of Jim. I just now saw Jim's obituary. I first met Jim in grade school at Kingman. I use to go to his house and see him and his brother Ivan. We hung out some until I moved away. Last saw Jim at a class reunion. And I found it interesting that I too was married on April 19, 1975. RIP ole friend.
