James was the beloved son of George "Wilbur" Poole and Marian B. (Hilsz) Poole, both of whom preceded him in death. He spent his early years in Granite City before relocating to Jersey County in 2014.
On May 29, 1971, James married Karen (Johnson) Poole, the love of his life. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family.
