He was born in Sonora to Sam and Lettie Ramsey. He loved working and helping other people. James was a farmer and Retired after 32 years at Gates Rubber Co in Elizabethtown. He was a Deacon and Assistant Pastor at the Lighthouse Ministry of Hodgenville. James Loved the lord and his family.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Hartsel (Staggs) Ramsey, Parents and 4 Sisters and 7 Brothers.
He is survived by his Daughter, Tamara (Mike) Sallee of Hodgenville, KY, Son, Dan (Casey) Ramsey of Hodgenville, KY, 3 Grandchildren, Gabriel (Ambra) Harris of Hendersonville, TN, Amanda (Joey) Wooldridge of New Haven, KY, Ali Grace Ramsey of Hodgenville, KY., A Sister, Madeline Grieb of Louisville, KY, 4 Great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Sophie, Molli Jo, John Daniel.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday November 20, 2025 12: noon at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, KY With Rev. Richard Ramsey officiating. Burial will be held at the Staggs - Quinn Cemetery in Bonnieville.
Visitation will be Wednesday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm or Thursday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
