James Francis Sawicki

James Francis Sawicki, age 68, of Naugatuck, beloved husband of Denise Blaise Sawicki, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. Born in Norwich, CT on August 10, 1955, he was the son of the late Donald Stanley and Helene Krodel Sawicki.
Jim served in the US Navy – 1973 – 1979 and was a member of the Wheeler-Young VFW Post 201, Waterbury, CT.
Jim loved to cook and entertain family and friends. He was a home brewer and made Meade and Oatmeal Stout which he called the "breakfast of champions". Jim was an avid UConn Women's Basketball fan and had gone to several final four games. He enjoyed traveling and visiting different islands. Camping on Cape Cod was one of his favorite things.
Jim loved being with his grandchildren and called them his "sweeties". Building with Legos, racing cars or reading books. They loved it when he pretended to be a monster and would chase them to eat their "piggies".
In addition to his wife Denise (Dee), survivors include his stepchildren Ryan Kidder and Arisen Enright and her husband Patrick, his cherished grandchildren Morgan, PJ, Liam and his dogs Mia & Kona. He is also survived by his brother David Sawicki and his wife Lori, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Sawicki.
The family would like to thank the Lutheran Home of Southbury for their care and compassion. Especially Roz, Maria, Mannie and Lafayette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 30th at 10:30 at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
