Reflection of Life
Mr. James Ashley Sirmans, Sr. was born on March 17, 1944 in Quitman, GA to the late Mr. V. W. Sirmans, Jr. and Lois E. Marable Sirmans. He departed from this earthly life on October 15, 2024, Battle Creek MI.
He received his education in the Brooks County School system. He was a Deacon at Union Baptist Church in Dixie, GA. He attended Simmon Hill church often until his health failed. He was a truck driver for 45 years until his health failed. Truck driving was his passion, he also loved being an auto mechanic, carpenter and a farmer. He was married to Nellie Thompkins. To this union, 4 children were born.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son James Ashley Sirmans Jr. His brothers, Ronald Sirmans Sr., and Gary Sirmans.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted son Schirra Sirmans (Tanika) Marshall, MI., Michael Sirmans (Inez) Norfolk, VA., and his only daughter, Devria Arnold (Ricky Sr.) Quitman, GA. Four loving sisters, India Turner (James) Dixie, GA., Lutherine Pullman, Brown Mills, NJ., Dorothy Aikens and Peggy Tillman, Dixie, GA. Two loving aunts, Cle-Esther Moore and Earnestine Sanders. Twenty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
