James "Jim" Neal Sullenger, 72, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Envive Healthcare of Evansville.
Jim was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 14, 1953 to the late James Hollis Sullenger and Mary Lee (Hoffman) Robertson. He was a 1971 graduate of North High School. Over the course of Jim's working career, he served as manager of Ponderosa Steakhouse, Eagle's Country Club, and Circuit City. Jim also owned and operated Bockelman's Restaurant - something he was always very proud of. In his free time, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, and traveling to the ocean. Jim loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kim (East) Sullenger of Evansville, IN; children, Jimmy Sullenger (Michelle) of Evansville, IN, Ashley DeTalente of Evansville, IN, Ashley Ann Burns of Evansville, IN, and Caleb Donahoo of Florida; siblings, Randy Sullenger (Lisa), Micki Reisinger, Leah Ann Guess, Jill Joseph, Karen Helfert, David Sullenger (Michelle), Robin Harnishfeger (Rob), Jackie Hopkins (Jay), Steve Sullenger (Shannon), Jeff Sullenger (Esther), and Duane Sullenger (Jodie); and grandchildren, Braxten, Autumn, Lily, Addy, Elijah, Annabelle, and Nate.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy Bayes (Ron); and brother-in-law, Bob Reisinger.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor James Wells officiating.
Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at AseraCare Hospice for all of their compassionate care.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Jim started up the Ponderosa on 1st Avenue and hired me with the staff of great working individuals, that consisted of Reitz, North, and Central high school kids. He was also active with us all. We would get together and play friendly basketball and softball against the east side Ponderosa. He was so considerate and caring at any situation that would arise. RIP, JIM!
