James Toon Obituary

Born on September 4, 1937 in Fancy Farm, KY to Charles K. and Mary A. Roberts Toon, he married Margie S. Shanks on June 2, 1962 in Fancy Farm. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2020 in Peoria.
Surviving are 6 children, James B. (Sandra) Toon, Lisa (Butch) Wood, Lyndal (Sheila) Toon, Michael Toon, Linda (Scott) Caudle, and Scott (Heather) Toon, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are 1 brother; Larry (Pat) Toon and 2 sisters; Anna Rose Buckman and Joan Andrus.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Patricia and 1 son, Timothy, 11 brothers and sisters, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Cryslyn.
Rudy worked as a Line Checker at Caterpillar Tractor Co throughout his career. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Father John Menco Council #6707 in Washington. He also was a member of the Old Farts Club.
A memorial visitation will be from 4-6 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A private graveside service will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
