James Douglas Wanzer, 57, West Hempstead, NY passed away under loving care of his sister, brother-in-law and nephew at his sister's home in Hagerstown, MD. Born November 4, 1964, he was the son of the late Douglas Edgar Wanzer and Patricia Maria (Hughes) Wanzer, both of West Hempstead, NY. He graduated from H. Frank Carey HS in Franklin Square, NY with the class of 1983. He was a very hard-workingman and also a wonderful son, brother, nephew, brother-in-law, godfather, and best friend. He loved many and was loved by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandparents, grandparents, and several family members.
He is survived by his sister, Claudine Marie Wanzer-Fehr, his brother-in-law (Claudine's husband- Judd Lowell Fehr), his nephew (Claudine and Judd's son Patrick Jeremy Fehr), as well as his loving aunts and uncles and many cousins.
He enjoyed attending many concerts (mostly heavy metal), watching many baseball games and hockey games, he is a HUGE fan of the New York Rangers & the New York Yankees and Manchester United Soccer. He also loved watching the New York Giants and loved listening to music, reading books, and watching several of his favorite TV series.
His wishes were to be cremated and the family will scatter his ashes at Lake Sunapee, NH (longtime favorite summer vacation getaway for the Wanzer family.)
