Jane (Strickler) Mackey, 66, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was born on December 17, 1955, in Chambersburg to the late John and Marion (Howard) Strickler. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring where she volunteered in Sunday School and Camp Falling Spring. A 1973 honors graduate from Chambersburg Area Senior High School, she continued her education at Davis & Elkins University, receiving her B.A. in Education in 1977. Jane taught four years at the elementary level in Tuscarora School District. In October of 1978, she married Richard Mackey Jr. recently celebrating 43 years of marriage. She gave selflessly as a volunteer to: Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society and Mary B. Sharpe P.T.A. As a member of the Afternoon Club, Jane was instrumental in the daffodil fundraiser for the library. She loved to use her creative eye for color and interior design to help others redo their homes. A kind, compassionate friend to all, she was a very giving and genuine person who put her family first. Surviving is her husband, Richard W. Mackey, Jr.; two children: Andrew (Sophie) and Daniel Mackey; grandchildren: Shepherd, Palmer and Finn Mackey; sister, Liz (Daniel Snyder) Strickler; brother, Daniel (Deb) Strickler; nieces, Elizabeth (Kyle) Strickler and Samantha Strickler; and nephews, Nate (Kate) Strickler, Hank Strickler, and Luke Strickler. In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her brother, John Strickler. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
