Jane R. Nessen passed away peacefully at her home in Summit, NJ during the early morning hours of July 24, 2025. Jane's death followed a brief illness. She was 99 years old.
Jane Randall was born at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ on May 26, 1926 to her parents, Helen and Arthur Randall. She lived in Glen Ridge, NJ surrounded by her parents and extended family. She lived briefly in Asbury Park, NJ and remembered the stock market crash of October 29, 1929, even though she was only 3 ½ years old. When she was 4, she welcomed her sister Sally into the family. Shortly thereafter her family moved to Bloomfield, NJ where she attended grammar school. Her parents then moved to Mountain Lakes, NJ where she lived until she graduated from high school in 1944.
Jane attended the University of Georgia until 1947, then she worked at Bamberger's in Newark. She became a Senior Executive for the Comparison Office and Personal Shopping. It was there she met her husband Ward H. Nessen, President of the Highton Company in Newark. They were married in 1959. He later passed away in July 1999. During their marriage they traveled the world extensively from 1967 to 1995.
Jane was a kind and loving person. Everyone who knew Jane will miss her presence because she was dearly loved by those who knew her.
