It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Junda Carton, age 45, of Surf City, New Jersey, on September 4, 2025.
Born in Livingston, New Jersey, Andrew grew up in Summit, New Jersey, and was a proud 1998 graduate of Summit High School, where he was a dedicated member of both the varsity lacrosse and swim teams. He attended Gettysburg College, Bridgeton Academy, and St. Joseph's University. He loved being a lifeguard on Long Beach Island when he was younger and was a member of the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department. His professional life was spent in the fields of construction and sales. Andrew found immense joy and peace in his love for fishing, being on the water, and the Florida Keys.
Those who knew Andrew will remember him as a kind soul. He made friends everywhere he went and loved to laugh. He possessed a caring nature and a generous spirit, always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors in need. His kindness, humor, and willingness to show up for others will remain a lasting memory to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories.
He was the beloved son of Georgine and Robert Carton and is also survived by his brother, Rob and his wife Elizabeth Carton; his cherished nephew, George; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who will deeply miss him. Andrew's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever carry with them the warmth of his spirit and the generosity of his heart.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 19th at 9:30. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ. A reception will be held following the ceremony at the Summit Elk's Lodge, 40 Maple Street, Summit, NJ.
