Janice M. Enk, 84, Martinsville, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at The Waters of Martinsville.
She was born on Wednesday, November 1, 1939 in Gosport, Indiana to the late Fred Milton and Mildred Josephine (Jones) Edwards.
Janice was a 1957 graduate of Martinsville High School. She was a homemaker and was active in the Martinsville community. She was a member of D.A.R. the 10 O'clock Line; was a member of the Morgan County Fair Board for over 35 years and was the first lady elected to be president and is a member of their Hall of Fame. Janice was active with the Morgan County Extension Homemakers for over 40 years, serving as president several terms. A member of the Indiana Extension Homemakers holding several offices including president in 1982. Was state president of the Indiana Association of Fairs, Festivals and Events in 2005 and is a member of their Hall of Fame. Janice was a charter member of the Morgan County History and Genealogy Association. She was a 4-H Leader and softball coach for the girls' team in Morgantown. She was past president of the Morgan County Extension Board. She served 32 years as a Jackson Township Board and was the Jackson Township Precinct Committeeperson.
Janice is survived by her son, Eric Enk and wife Rebecca of Martinsville; daughter, Lisa DeBaets and husband Roy of Redmond, Washington; brothers, Robert N. Edwards of North Port, Florida and Jay Edwards of Cloverdale; sister, Nancy Mithoefer of Greenfield; grandchildren, Megan Williams, Jacob Enk and Mina Raley and husband Kyle; great grandchildren, Emmersyn, Easton, Greta and Otto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, whom she married on August 12, 1960 and he passed away on December 15, 2023; parents, Fred and Mildred.
Visitation will be at Costin Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery.
